When new clients tell me that they are Christians or have some measure of faith in God, I inwardly breathe a sigh of relief.  You may come with the most serious of emotional and relational problems in life, but your faith can be an invaluable resource for change.  Christian and Jewish believers may get off course in life, but they always have a reference point to guide them back to health and wholeness. 

I count it a privilege to help fellow believers change their lives and heal their relationships.  The Bible says to "rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn."  While both of these happen in therapy, I especially enjoy seeing my client's lives change from mourning to rejoicing.  Amazing changes can happen when believers commit themselves or their marriages to God's help.  

I've been in private practice in Pasadena for over twenty years.   I offer individual counseling for adults, pre-marital counseling for engaged couples, and marriage counseling for spouses that want to restore the love in their lives.   

A graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary (one block from my office), I have also taught as an adjunct professor on counseling with Christian men, husbands and fathers. I'm an expert at understanding the unique needs and hopes of Christian men, both single and married.  I also am passionate about raising  boys to become successful men and husbands.  Too many men have never grown out of boyhood, and they and their wives are paying a heavy price for it.  

I am also a frequent speaker at marriage conferences and men's retreats, and especially enjoy speaking on Christian sex and love.  I co-authored the book, What Wives Wish Their Husbands Knew about Sex:  A Guide for Christian Men (Baker Books, 2007).  Written for Christian men, the book is down-to-earth, funny, and full of biblical and psychological insights for the best sex life in the world.
